Peridot put her hands on her hips and looked around for where to begin as soon as the light of the warp faded. Honestly, it would only take her a week at max to find parts and build a silly communicator, but she wanted to have an excuse to make up some time with Jasper. They hadn't gotten along really before everything went to crap, but when Peridot realized who she was... she felt bad she hadn't cared to get to know her. She came to this planet and was seeing so many new things and points of view, it was only right that she got to see Jasper for what she really could be too. After all, Earth had given her a chance, why should Jasper be any different?
"Here we are! This is the only place that has any gem technology parts good enough to be scrapped. I think pulling apart an injector or two should give us what we need, be careful though, corrupted gems on the loose and unstable injectors can fall pretty easy."

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Jasper blinked the brightness of the Era 1 warp pad away. Everything about Era 2 was superior, with their elder counterparts giving off too much light for her tastes. It didn't take her long to realize where they were. The Beta Kindergarten. If she couldn't already tell by the sandstone walls, she could definitely feel a pull to the place. This was where she came from, where she emerged. Where she began her endless warpath.
She was quiet for a moment, her time spent here flooding back to her. The day she emerged and the months she was here collecting corrupted monsters in her warped menagerie, trying to make an army to defeat Rose Quartz. If she had to stoop to that, was it worth getting revenge? Of course it was. It had to be.
"All right," she mumbled. With the memories coming to her in unwanted waves came also the horrible aching feelings she had. The self doubt. The bitterness. The wishful thinking about an alternative world where everything had went right. But if everything had went right, Jasper wouldn't be here right now. Though, she did value the success of her Diamond's colony more than herself. That was how Gems were supposed to be. Jasper was right, she was perfect. And yet, she couldn't help feeling like a mistake. Notes template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

Perry looked over her shoulder at Jasper and her smile faded, her eyes glancing to the ground before metting the larger gem's gaze. "Do you... want to visit your hole?" She asked cautiously, sure that the matter could potentially sound offensive or be sensitive. Even "perfect" gems had some weaknesses.
"It's not far from here, just a few minuets of waking. The injectors down there are more intact anyway- we could have better luck."

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Jasper avoided meeting Peridot's eyes. "If that's where we need to go, let's get it over with. The sooner the stuff is collected, the sooner we can get out of here," she remarked.
But anyone could tell it wasn't her general impatience causing her desire to leave. It was a fear, a deep-rooted fear of where she came from. Acknowledging her origins meant that she had to come to terms with who she was and that made her very uncomfortable. She exhaled, mentally reminding herself of her own perfection. She was the perfect Quartz soldier. A stupid hole in the ground did not mean anything to or about her. Notes template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

Of course that would be the response she got. "Alright, off we are then." She said and started walking down the slope to the ground, both hands behind her back as her eyes went from hole to hole. "It's a nice day out. Be glad I didn't pop you last week, the weather was pretty bad. In fact... it's still pretty muddy around here." Her face scrunched in displeasure and she suddenly beamed, "We didn't tell you how we defeated the cluster!... It was quite the experience..." Jasper probably doesn't want to know about that...
Peridot cleared her throat and suddenly took off towards the first injector, Jasper's hole stood as it always had, not even twenty feet from them. The small green gem paid no mind to it, and flung open a hatch on the injector, mumbling about old tech as she meddled with the insides, "Wow these things are really busted up... and ancient."

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Jasper followed her, trying her best to ignore the holes around her. She remembered who these Gems were. She could most definitely tell who came from what hole if one asked. And the thought of all the ones that didn't make it wrenched her gut. But she forced herself to shove it all down once more. It was weak to think of them, to care... but she did. They were her kin and they fought alongside her to try and wrest the Earth back from the rebels. With each one gone one by one, she hated the rebels more and more.
"Must've been. The lunatic who designed it was one piece of work," she murmured. Though it was probably no different in scale than her epic battle with Alexandrite.
Her eyes silently strayed over to the spot where she'd clawed her way out of the Earth's crust. She still remembered the feeling of being pushed in on all sides and needing to escape. Peridot's remark, though, snapped her attention back on over to her. Ancient. Was that what all this history was to her? Ancient? It did not feel ancient to Jasper. It felt like yesterday. Peridot fell inside of the machine, grunting as she hurt her hand, not enough to really bother her. At least now she could get a closer look at the parts she needed. "Hey Jasper, mind ripping off the metal here so I can get out?" She asked and punched the wall, and then shook out her wrist. Bad idea. Bad idea! Why'd she punch metal?! She hissed as again her hand was hurt and continued to meddle with wires while she waited for the larger gem to rip off a good enough chunk that she could escape the injector without having to climb over a million shares of glass and wires.
she had only found a few useable pieces to make due with, and getting an idea she bubbled it, so she wouldn't have to carry it, and sent it home. "I could go to a junk yard and get more then six lousy screws for a communicator, these injectors are ridiculous, how could homeworld even think these would be suitable?" She dusted herself off as she complained.

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Jasper sighed and tore off the panel, grimacing somewhat, but not because of the effort. It reminded her of collecting corrupted Gems and forcing them into holes she dug out, of the battle against the fusion of Steven and Amethyst, Smoky Quartz. She had bested them narrowly, but Peridot had done the impossible. She had shown herself to have magnetokinesis. An Era 2 Peridot with that ability was unthinkable.
"Why didn't you just move it with your dumb powers?" Jasper asked, grunting. Did Peridot just enjoy bossing her around? It was normal for her to fall into the patterns of commanding and being commanded, but she was not about to just be bossed around by a Peridot and a traitor.
Her eyes narrowed as Peridot exited the injector and complained. "Clearly, you have no idea what it was like being alive during the war. You were grown in some lab-controlled piece of dirt. I was made the real way, like a true Gem," she growled. Notes template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

"My powers aren't strong enough to rip through thick metal like this yet." She said and raised a brow, motioning around the area with her hand as she spoke. "Woah-woah no need to insult how I was made. I'm only saying, these injectors are pretty faulty. It's no wonder gems like Amethyst came out wrong most the time!" She crossed her arms over her chest, "Someone's being touchy, didn't you want this place to be destroyed along with the rest of the earth?" She pushed the subject against better judgement, feeling a little of her old unlikeabke self slipping back in place. Then again, perhaps that's what Jasper needed. A good kick of reality.

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath "Strong enough to send a leg through my chest," she snorted. Although, with the lack of a nose, it sounded a little strange.
When Peridot commented on the faultiness of the machines, her words came out as though she was responding to a slight against herself. "Well not everyone can be a perfect Era 2 like you!"
But it only grew worse as Peridot insinuated that she cared about the Earth, about her origins. "I want it gone. I want all of this gone, but I am not about you let you insult how me and my sisters came out," she said pointing a finger at the smaller Gem, poking her chest with quite the force. "These injectors wouldn't have been faulty if they didn't have to have been created so quickly. All of this is the fault of those Crystal Gems that brainwashed you."
But what she really was saying... All of this is my fault. Notes template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

Peridot narrowed her eyes as she was prodded. She wasn't about to be the one who backed down anymore. "Maybe they shouldn't have been here at all! In my time here I've learned a lot, a lot more than any diamond has! They should have taken the rebellion as a sign to leave the planet alone! Yet they put gem's lives on the line! Because they don't care about us, it doesn't take a brain to know that!" She threw her arms in the air, "I'm proud to call myself a crystal gem, because I'm not a blind clod who only knows how to take orders from the higher jerks above them!"

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath "This was my Diamond's colony, you clod! They cared enough about our future to make me to defend it!" Jasper hissed in the other's face, growling with absolute fury.
She leaned back before Peridot accidentally hit her in the face. At the last phrase, the shouted frustration and slammed her fist against the wall, just below her exit hole. "Imbecile!"
Ironic that she said that, as her impulsive action sent a tremor through the sandstone walls and dislodged a loose injector. It began to plummet to the ground, mere moments from taking Jasper with it. She barely had enough time to look up and widen her eyes in shock. She was frozen, taken back mentally to one of many punishments for bad behavior. Notes template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

The small green gem was about to fire back more words when she saw the shadow above them growing. Thanks to her impulsive instincts she jumped, though her tiny body wouldn't have done much good if it weren't for the fact the metal sheet under her pushed against her, giving her just enough force to push Jasper away a good distance before she was suddenly forced back into her gem with a horrible surge of pain, embedded deep in the dirt under the weight of the injector.

I've wasted time, I've wasted breath Jasper fell to the ground, shoved out of the way by Peridot and her impulsive intervention. She blinked, suddenly on her hands and knees. There was a great cloud of dust thanks to the injector's collapse, but there was green mixed in with the orange dust. Nothing in the Beta Kindergarten was green except... Peridot! Peridot was under all of that!
Quickly, she turned around and lifted the injector, throwing it far into the distance. There was a lot of rubble left even after the source of the problem was removed. She frantically dug through it in hopes of finding Peridot in the mess. But there was no sign of her.
It took several minutes, but she eventually did find a green, triangle-shaped gem, which was most likely Peridot's gem. Tears welled up in her eyes, so much that it was hard to see for a moment. Alone, it didn't matter if she cried. She wiped her tears and inspected for cracks. Peridot seemed fine, even though her physical form had been destroyed.
Still afraid, however, she took her back to the temple in a mad rush. Notes template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0
