Peridot skunk to the front of the barn, blanket covering her body to hide her wind wit was broad daylight, and she was trying to sneak her way about. She slowly peeked outside and huffed, still nothing! She wouldn't miss it! Not this time! The mysterious entity that gave her the items she purchased online using a "card" Steven had given her. They would always arrive when she wasn't looking, in strange brown boxes with "bubble" wrap inside that Steven enjoyed popping. But how did the packages get to her? Who knew that she had bought these items? Who knew where she lived?! Some sort of delivery robot, or animal? Peridot sunk lower to the ground with a groan of frustration, ready to give it up for the day since it was taking so long.
At the sound of a car pulling up to the barn Peridot gasped and shot out, ready to grab hold of whatever this thing would be if she had to, making a sound of joy as she caught movement through the fabric of the sheet before she tripped over it, landing face first against the ground and the sheet fell away from her, exposing the small green gem that she was. She didn't mind, the cover was just so that the thing would come in he first place, now that it was here it didn't matter!
She picked herself up and dusted herself off as she looked over what it was... who it was. "A human!" She beamed excitedly, throwing her arms in the air, "I never would have guessed it!" She stuck out her hand at a straight angle like Steven had tried to show her once or twice, also something she had learned from watching her favorite show, Camp Pining Hearts, "I am Peridot, but you may call me by my Earth name, Perry." She said with a matter-of-fact tone, "And I would like to thank you for delivering my packages.. I know I have placed a great many orders and added to your purpose, so I guess you're welcome too." She laughed with a snort and put her hands on her hips, looking the tall human over, " Wait... humans don't have a creation purpose, do they?" Her eyes widened, "Which means you travel the world giving people things they bought! That's amazing! I mean, humans can't warp like us so it must be hard right, going around and doing all that! So admirable!"

At first he'd done this by delivering these packages to Steven's house, it was easier, and he couldn't for the life of him find where they were meant to go anyway, but after a few particularly large orders coming through, Steven had been kind enough to show him exactly where he was meant to be bringing them, where this...Perry...Supposedly lived. The barn was fairly out of the way of his normal route, so he tended to hold the packages meant for there until the end of the day when he was finished running all over the rest of Beach City, or at least the places designated to him, it was easier than trying to squeeze the somewhat remote place into his route, and it kept him from getting griped at when other people's mail was late.
The downside was that some days he was late getting out to the barn, like today, he wasn't exactly sure who this Perry was or why they lived in this barn, but it also wasn't entirely his place to guess or judge, he just delivered the stuff.
He was whistling when he pulled up as close as he could to the barn, taking a moment to unload a few of the several packages onto a dolly before he started to push it up towards the door, Steven always told him to just leave them there, that the owner would find them no problem, so that was usually what he did.
Today however, he was not expecting to get the fright of his life, and he jumped and fell backwards onto his rear when a small, green figure popped out of nowhere at him, "Ah!" He gasped, putting a hand to his chest, "g-guessed...What?!" He looked the small...Gem...This had to be one of Steven's gem friends...He chuckled softly as he regained his composure.
He got back to his feet, dusting himself off before he noticed her sticking her hand out, chuckling and taking it in a friendly handshake, "Perry! So you're the one ordering all this stuff, I'm Jamie!" He looked a little confused at her words, rubbing at the back of his head...His purpose? That was a little depressing...He liked to think he had more of a purpose than just delivering the mail...Then again this was also an actual alien he was speaking to, "nah I do more than just deliver the mail!" He chuckled, "but you're welcome anyway, sorry it took me so long to find this place...You're a bit far out here!" His eyes widened a little and he lifted his hands, "haha! Not quite the world! My route covers most of Beach City! I'm not Santa Clause, now there's a guy who can cover the whole world!" Not that he believed in Santa Clause...Not entirely...But maybe a little.
He chuckled as he onced over the small gem, smiling, "sorry I was a bit late today, I had to cover someone else's route on top of my own, but your packages are here safe and sound!" He patted the top of the boxes and gave her an amiable grin.

Perry was unphased by Jamie's surprise of her sudden appearance, too enthralled with the idea of the human delivery man. "I don't know who this 'Santa' guy is, but he sounds like your leader of sorts." She waved off his explanation, so what if he didn't go around the world? Beach City was still a lot of humans, and this was still occasion to make a new friend!
"If you are 'done with your routes' as you say," She used air quotes as she spoke, "Then does that mean you have free time to 'socialize' with me? I'm still unsure of how human friendship works... since Steven isn't technically human." She put her hand on her chin in thought, "So I guess that would make you my first fully human friend!"
