"Take this!" Came Pearl's war cry as she used her spear to hit the large gem monster over the head, disorientating it before she jumped over it like a balerena in battle for a movie, wanting to put on a good performance. The maneuver allowed her to confuse the monster with ease and then spear it through the back, careful to avoid the gem in its chest. She only wanted to poof it... it was still a person, long forgotten deep down there somewhere. Somewhere there was a gem who didn't know what she was doing wrong. It couldn't be helped, they couldn't let these gems harm people. The only option would be to pop and bubble them to keep them safe. When the gem popped she quickly bubbled it and sighed, tapping the top and sending it home... that was that. The last one she was aware of in the area.

Suddenly, a drill erupted out of the ground where the corrupted Gem was moments ago before Pearl bubbled it and sent it back to the temple. The drill expanded into the shape of a person, a Gem by the look of her outfit and the gemstone smack dab between her eyes. In a feat of acrobatics, the mysterious stranger flipped in the air and landed on her feet much like a cat would, posing dramatically.
"I am here to-- wait, where did the darn thing go? Who are you?"
The stranger took a few steps towards Pearl, reaching out her hand to touch her face. Her hand was stabbed by the pointy nose and she recoiled, but her second attempt met the smooth oval that was Pearl's gem. A gasp escaped her mouth, the gap in her teeth visible during the very, very long moment. This Gem had a talent for theatrics.
"Pearl! Oh my goodness, you're alive!"

"Another one!?" Was Pearl's first thought as she heard loud noise behind her, turning to face the scourse only to hear a voice she didn't have time to react to before she was being touched, by an eerily familliar figure. She couldn't place it though... but, but it was a gem, uncorrupted and... well they looked normal for the most part. "Me? Of course I'm alive I'm... how do you know me?" Not sure of the situation she kept her weapon ready, just in case, though her stance was relaxed. "Who are you, and what's a gem doing out here in Spain?"

"We're friends!" Ara declared joyously. Of course, by now, her hand had retracted, now holding her chin in thought. "At least, we should be. I don't know many defective Pearls who fight. Then again, everything's been fuzzy since the war."
Her brow raised high, surprise written on her face despite the shades over her eyes. "The war! Oh goodness, I think it's you, me, and Seraphinite left!"
However, she could sense the weapon still at the ready, judging by the tenseness she could feel from the earth that touched the Pearl. Her hands raised in surrender. "I'm Aragonite, Ara, the one weirdo Gem with the shovel and the defective gem?" she listed off, hoping any of the nomenclatures would help clear up the mystery of her identity. And to prove her point about the shovel, she drew a stick with a handle from her gem and coughed up a spade, combining the pieces into her weapon. "And I happen to live here. In fact, I've been stopping corrupted Gems. That one you made disappear was going to be mine, it just took me a while to tunnel through the ground."
Huh. This was a strange one.

Pearl certainly liked being called defective, but decided to let it go since it seemed this gem was claiming to be her friend. She let the weapon go and watched with a confused expression at this gem's odd way of summoning up her shovel... then it hit her. "Rose mentioned you a few times- and we're not nessesarily all that's left." Pearl relaxed more, though a smile had yet to bring itself to her pale face, eyeing this gem from head to toe. From the way her face had been grabbed she could only assume this gem was hard if seeing or blind completely, which was a little worrisome. Then again if this gem was helping bubble corrupted gems then she could handle herself fine without sight... right?
"I suppose I should be glad to finally meet you then. Had I known we still had a troop or two across the world then I would have warped here to retrieve you ages ago... no matter, I'm thankful to meet you now and to see you aren't corrupted."

"Rose!" Aragonite grinned. "Is she with you? I don't feel her on the ground, but then again, she is light for a Quartz," she mused.
"Why thank you, it's a pleasure to meet you too! Though, you might have missed me because I was literally stuck in a necklace," she grinned, a little too eager.
For her, this was the best day ever. Not only did she meet another Crystal Gem after thinking they all were gone, she met one that she deeply respected. It made her feel much better about herself and a little less alone since the day she reformed months ago. That day had been so confusing and terrifying to her. She had formed to be faced with a human, not a war. No other Gems had been around and the human had not even known what Gems were! Going around, she had discovered corruption and the remains of countless Gems. They were all gone, or so she had thought. This told her that others were around, that, perhaps, they were still thriving.

Pearl blushed faintly, gripping the gems hands tighter, "Admittedly we've been fusing all together a little too much..." she cleared her throat and her voice sounded genuinely more light hearted and fluttery, "Were gathered in Beach City in ... oh what's the name... America? Perhaps we should have explored the world to search for other war survivors ..." she pulled away a moment to twirl, throwing her arms in the air with a laugh, "We should bring you back to the temple, the others would love to meet you! Ah, friendly gems are so hard to come by."

long ago, there lived a knight... Aragonite cocked her head at the mention of Rose being gone. Pearl's voice had a hunt of sadness in it, but it wasn't an angry I-blame-someone sadness like someone had shattered Rose. More like a bittersweet sadness, as if they had shared good time together and then Rose disappeared. But what had happened? Gems did not die of old age like humans did. Ara knew that firsthand due to her own age. She had been fighting in arenas for the Diamonds for so long until she had ran away with Sodalite. Well, ran away, but lost Sodalite.
"Oh I know I've missed a ton. Thousands of years! Look at all these humans and their world. So much different than during the war," she mused. "I like it, although I do miss everyone... Did they all...?" she trailed off, then added, "Or more rather, who made it out uncorrupted and unshattered? I know there's been a few stragglers... Seraphinite and Iolite."

Pearl grabbed the other's hands and held them firmly as she spoke, the memory coming to her that indeed this gem was in able to see. She felt perhaps a simple guesture as this would be... She didn't know what it meant but it must be something positive since she felt impulsed to do it, right? "Well... None of the original rebellion. We've gained many friends along the way, a fusion of a Ruby and Sapphire named Garnet, an Amethyst, and recently a Lapis and Peridot."

long ago, there lived a knight... Next thing she knew, her hands were being held by Pearl. The sensation of touch brought a soft blush to her face. The gesture was not only appreciated by her, but it also made her feel somewhat better having something... something there in the sea of blackness she always had. It was indeed positive.
"A fusion?" her eyebrow quirked. She had heard of fusions happening and even met one. Always, she was happy for them, but there was also a twinge of jealousy that she had never gotten to have her own happily-fusion-after.
"Wowie, that's a lot more Gems than I was expecting. Where have y'all been hiding?" notes

long ago, there lived a knight... "Hm?" Ara murmured at the fusion comment.
"Ah, America! Admittedly, I haven't gotten to explore much. I've been busy getting my bearings straight. That's... North America, right? Oh, I'd love to go there and meet everyone. Friendly Gems are indeed hard to come by with all this corruption. But before I head on over, I should let Maria know I'm going. She's the human that got me out of that necklace," she explained.

Pearl 's eyes widened, "Human? Necklace? Ah, no no it sounds like a long story. Long stories for later, yes? I'll come with you." She took Ara's hand with one of her hands, entwining their fingers gently.
"Oh... I mean if you wouldn't mind me tagging along. I could always wait by the warp?"

long ago, there lived a knight... Aragonite smiled. Pearl had absolutely no idea how long the story was, but all she said was, "Really long story,"
But next she knew, the organic Gem had taken her hand, threading her fingers in with hers. "I would love to have you come along. Being alone is no fun!"
And thus, she was led to the place where she lived and trained with her human friend, Maria Garcia. It was a nice place in the middle of the countryside and discreet enough to hide an actual alien like Aragonite.

if you want it you fight for it Maria was waiting for Aragonite to return, and when she heard the familiar footsteps of her friend she stepped outside. "You're back!" she exclaimed cheerfully, unable to keep the bright smile off her face.
Each time Aragonite left alone, she feared that the Gem wouldn't return. "Can we do some more training today?" she asked, lifting up her shovel for emphasis. It got boring sitting around, and training gave her something to do. She wanted to prove herself to Aragonite, after all. Prove that she could be a perfectly capable warrior. "I think I'm getting better, and-"
Wait... A stranger was with Aragonite, one that she hadn't noticed in her relief at Aragonite's safe return. A stranger that appeared to be a Gem. "Who are you?!" she demanded, raising her shovel once more, prepared to fight if necessary.
