Kevin had been walking around town most of the day doing this or that, enjoying the fresh beach air and cooling wind of fall swiftly approaching the beach. He half wondered what his little crush might say on an afternoon like this... something poetic about the sun setting probably. Errands... Stick to errands. He shook thoughts of Jamie from his head and adjusted his sleeves as he entered the last stop of his journey. Normally he tried to eat healthy things during weekdays but dancing practice plus all the walking around he'd burned enough just to have one treat. Besides, he'd passed this place a few times before, someone from his age group worked here, someone he could invite to his little party or something. He had to meet the people of this town someway... and the last rave hadn't gone so well. Since when to goregeous people turn out to be two small kids? That wasn't normal... right? That night was quickly becoming a repressed memory.
He pushed his way way into the shop and noticed quickly he had been right, Lars looked like the kind he wouldn't be embarrassed to be around, not like there were any equals in this town so he might as well as improvise.
"One glazed." Kevin said with a charming smile as he reached the counter, leaning on it slightly as he appeared to be heavily judging this other person's style, though he just wanted to see how he'd react. Clothes and such didn't matter in this town, of course Kevin cared about his own appeal but that was a different story, as for reaction... someone who was too snappy probably wouldn't get along with him. "You've lived here a while, right?" He started curiously.

Lars was in his usual spot, seated at the front counter of the Big Donut. He'd love to be anywhere except for stuck there, but that was almost impossible. If Sadie was there, he just might have been able to convince her to take his duties, although the last time he did, it didn't end so well. Occasionally, he felt like he could still feel a slight burning in the back of his throat. He winced at the thought. Either way, Sadie wasn't here so that was out of the question. He began tapping the surface of the counter in boredom, gaze aimed towards the door, so that if someone happened to enter the building, they'd be in his line of sight. He released a sigh. Sometimes he wished he could work somewhere else, or even live in a completely different town all together, but those thoughts usually faded not too long after they were conjured. After all, if he didn't live in Beach City, he wouldn't have met some of the people he actually enjoyed the company of, like Sadie, or Buck, Jenny and Sour Cream, or even Steven. Well, sometimes.
It wasn't long before the door swung open and a young man stepped in. Lars was sure he had seen him around once, maybe a couple of times before, but didn't think much of it. It was hard not to have seen anyone who lived in or around Beach City at least once, if you live there that is, and another customer wasn't anything to be particularly ecstatic about. "Welcome to the Big Donut." he said, in an almost-monotone voice. "One glazed." he heard the person say. Lars backed away slightly when Kevin leaned on the counter and looked at him in a seemingly judgemental way. "Yeah, sure," he responded, moving over to grab one from behind the glass display. "You've lived here a while, right?" Kevin asked from the other side of the counter. "Well- yeah, I've lived here since I was a kid." He placed the donut in a paper bag and set it on the countertop. "What about you? I mean, I think I've seen you around a few times, so... Oh, and that's 99 cents."

Kevin hummed when Lars welcomed him with a seemingly indifferent voice, that of a guy who just wanted to be left alone or be home. He set a dollar on the counter and slipped another in the tip jar absentmindedly, speaking as he did so, "I've been moved in officially for about two months. But I can't really socialize with my house. So I'm throwing a party next Friday." He grabbed the bag and put the hand on his hip, body swaying to one side slightly as he offered a more friendly look, eyes meeting Lars'.
"Some guy named Sour Cream offered to DJ when I invited him so I have a feeling we'll have decent music to rave to at least, and Ki- whatever from the pizza place has food covered. Seems all I need is the group of locals." The tanned teen ran his free hand through his hair and smoothly smirked, "You wouldn't happen to be the partying type, right?"

Lars took the dollar and popped it into the cash register, his eyes quickly glancing over to the tip jar where another was placed. While Kevin spoke, Lars gave a few slow nods. Not that he wasn't listening, he just was waiting for something particularly interesting to be said. Word of a party picqued his interest slightly, but he wasn't sure if he'd be up for it. He loosened up a bit more when Kevin gave a friendlier look than the judging one he had previously.
His eyes widened at the words that followed. /Sour Cream's going to be there?/ Sour Cream was one of the 'cool kids' who Lars hung around and somewhat idolized. Even though he spent time with them, he wasn't entirely sure if he was really 'in' with them. The party could be his chance to really establish himself into the group through a bit of chatting with Sour Cream. /Play it cool, Lars.../ "Yep, sure, I'm definitely the party type!" he blurted out.

Kevin raised a brow at the outburst. A guy being a litt,e too ready to head to a party? Should prove to be good. At least this guy wasn't some emo/goth whatever. Work attitude it was fine to be gloom and doomy. He was glad that this guy didn't appear to be that all the time. "Good. The name's Kevin, down Oak Street you'll know which house it is come next Friday night~." He winked and started to walk out, turning back as he pressed his back against the door, "And hey- if you know anyone who doesnt know about it already then do me a favor and let them in. Normally my parties are secrets but I got to know who to invite in the future."

"I'm Lars, I'll see you there!" he said, followed by a little wave once Kevin began heading for the door. Anyone who didn't know about the party yet? He could think of a few people that probably hadn't heard about it yet. "Will do!" he responded. He internally facepalmed at his own over-enthusiasm throughout the conversation. Was it really that hard for him to just chill out? Well, what's done is done, and there would be no changing it.
